What is default deck ?

The purpose of this article is to explain what a default deck is and how it is used. When you sign up, a default deck is automatically created for you.

You can save cards to your default deck in the following ways:

• Whenever you search a word in the dictionary. If you wish you can change this behavior in Preferences section.
• During auto-save of unknown words in the Client when automatic tracking is enabled. Check this out to know more about what is tracking and how its works.

It is possible to set any deck as the default deck.

Typical scenarios

Take Daniel, a student of computer science engineering who currently focuses on a subject called System Engineering. In order to gain a better understanding of some topics in System Engineering, he is searching on Google. During his reading of blogs or articles, he may wish to find out the meaning of some unfamiliar words.

Daniel can create a new deck called System Engineering and use that as default deck for storing unknown vocabulary in this case.

After a few days, Daniel has decided to focus on Algorithms and Data Structures. To do this, he can create a new deck and set it as default.

Can we remove default deck ?

The default deck cannot be deleted since it stores unknown words. You will have to set another deck as default then delete the old one.
